Welcome!
Thanks for visiting my official home on the Web.
If you're listening to me, I'm Luke Maynard, Canadian singer-songwriter across a range of styles, instruments, sounds, stories, and various noises I make by plucking and blowing and banging on objects.
I'm probably best-known for my work with London, Ontario's Dixie Flyers twenty years(!!) ago, but I'm still recording and playing. My début album, Desolation Sound, is a double-length concept album, deliberately channeling the 1970s and '80s, about the rise and fall of the Canadian folk world alongside the rise and fall of single-industry Canadian boom towns.

If you're reading me on the page, I'm Luke R. J. Maynard, author of Canadian novels and poetry, the occasional dissertation or academic paper, and rudimentary copy for this webpage. I'm best known for theTravalaith Saga, a fantasy series that looks to be ongoing, open-ended, and interconnected in surprising ways as it unfolds.

I've thought about separating my musical and writing careers onto two separate webpages, but it would double my time commitment to this page and probably wouldn't provide much benefit. They're two different creative buckets, but all of the water comes from the same well anyways.
You can find my social-media links below. Reaching me directly is probably easiest on BlueSky, but I've also got a presence on Canadian social-media site Kcunac, which is still in its infancy. I'd be delighted to see you there too (you don't have to be a Canadian), especially because most of my friends and family are slow to a move from one platform to the next. It's a quiet place on the Internet for now, but maybe we can change that with time.
UNDER (re-)CONSTRUCTION!
Stay tuned for more information, both literary and musical!
